A Stray Cat’s Abode begins with a found scene: a discarded desk at the corner of a neighbouring block, partially cleared by a town council worker who removed smaller debris while arranging heavier remnants into a quiet, unintended composition. What remains is neither entirely chaotic nor fully ordered—an in-between state that invites attention.

Here, trash becomes an unlikely still life. In Singapore, where public spaces are carefully maintained, such moments of disposal feel especially revealing. What is left behind—objects once used, handled, and lived with—begins to suggest the contours of lives otherwise hidden behind closed doors
